Are you planning on your wedding being in summer? It’s probably one of the most beautiful seasons of the year. With the amazing summer scenery comes some challenges. These following tips can help you easily overcome any challenges you may face during a summer wedding.

 

1. Plan Everything Ahead of Time

During the summer many people go on vacations, caterers aren’t available, entertainment is already booked, and etc. So let everyone know and book everything ahead of time, so you won’t be freaking out at the last minute.

 

2.Make the Menu Contain Light and Refreshing Food

If you serve your guest heavy food at your summer wedding, it won’t turn out well. Heavy meals and hot weather do not work out well together. Your wedding menu should definitely be more seasonal. Include a nice selection of fruits and vegetables, and maybe a salad. If you are a big fan of meat, grilled chicken would be a great choice.

3. Provide Many Drinks

When it’s a hot summer day, a nice cold drink is one of the best things to have. Therefore, make sure to offer some iced/cold drinks.

4.Offer Shade

Shade is a great thing to have at a summer wedding. The sun is amazing, but sometimes it’s nice to have a break, especially when it gets really hot. A good idea is to get a tent of some sort, so everyone can hang out under there without being scorched by the sun.

5.Have Sun and Bug Protection

Summer is the season of sun and bugs, and having a sunburn or bug bite is not ideal. Having sun and bug protection on hand  would be the most wise during an outdoor summer wedding. You don’t want to walk down the aisle looking red with a bunch of bug bites. Also, have some on hand for your guests at your wedding as they may have forgotten to bring their own.

6. Make Sure Everything Can Survive in the Sun

With weddings comes flowers, food, and beautiful plants. However, if you’re having a wedding during the summer season you have to make sure they can stand up in the sun. Look for heat resistant flowers, and plants. Succulents are a great and beautiful option.

7. Coordinate Your Hair and Dress to Fit a Summery Theme

The way you want to look during your wedding is completely up to you, but having a more summery feel makes the whole theme tie together. Also, if it’s hot outside you don’t want your wedding dress to be made out of a really  thick material.

8. Tell Your Guest to Wear Cool and Comfortable Clothing

When you send out your invitations for your wedding make sure to tell your guest to wear clothing that is meant for heat and won’t make them uncomfortable. There are many formal, cool, and comfortable clothing for summer weddings like dresses, nice shorts, and a top, and etc.

9.Offer Your Guest Items to Keep Them Cool

Whether you offer tiny goods such as a handheld fan,  sunglasses, or flip flops, everything cool is very much appreciated when you’re in the heat. Nobody will enjoy your big day if they are sweating and uncomfortable.

10. Pick a Day and Time That’s Not too Hot

Most of the time, the middle of the day is the hottest part of the day so it might not be the best time for a wedding. As well as some days are hotter than others, so pick a day that has the best weather that’s suitable for your wedding.
