When I have a camera in my hand, I see God’s Story. The one he has carefully crafted behind the scenes, his plan. His original plan and plan B’s and C’s that have been re-written and edited that come with humans having free will. He blessed me with this gift of photography, an art of storytelling, to convey a story through images. I am doing my best to honor him in the moments he has blessed me with capturing.
A wedding tells a story of a couple’s love for one another, but it also tells the story of those who came to support and love them on their journey.
What you see….A small intimate gathering of close family and friends drawn together to celebrate a couple merging their lives as man and wife.
What my camera sees… A couple in love, coming together as ma and wife, who have known each other for years, who have ALREADY endured and passed some of life’s hardest tests together.
It sees old students of mine almost 20 years later married with kids…man life is flying by.
My lens captures an extended family that doesn’t get to come together very often, having fun, catching up, and making more memories. Boy, do they clean up nice! It also captures the quiet absence of way too many relatives who have already left this world too soon, seen in an Uncle’s smile, and gray hair, a missing groomsman, and a friend lacing up the wedding dress.
It zooms in to take a closer look at sons and daughters breaking generational curses by overcoming addiction, getting to know Jesus Christ and others reconciling families in a beautifully blended way,
Finley and Lisa, it means so much to me that you asked me to capture your big day. I feel truly blessed.
