How to Capture Fun Photos of your Wedding Party on your Wedding Day
For years traditional poses with your wedding party has always been a great addition to your wedding photo album. However these days, more wedding couples are starting to think outside the box when it comes to capturing special moments from their special day. Although dapper tuxedos and elegant dresses are always complementary to a great photo op, couples today have started integrating more variety and personality into their photos. If you think you might be that couple that is ready to step away from traditional poses and instead add creativity, personality, fun and capture the true essence of the moment, these wedding photo tips listed below just might give you some inspiration!
Do Your Research…
Do your research to help decide your “must have” wedding photo poses. Taking a peek at your friends/families wedding albums or browsing online at unique photographs are both great ways to gain some inspiration. Even if you don’t want the same exact photo of what you see, you can always take that inspiration and put your own unique twist on poses.
Meet Before Hand…
Be sure to meet your professional wedding photographer beforehand, to discuss important and crucial details. Present any photos you like or ideas you have to your wedding photographer prior to your session. You will find that most photographers will be happy to recreate preferred pictures for you.
A Little Extra Goes a Long Way…
Don’t be afraid to cut loose a little and add a few props to your pictures! Many wedding venues or photographers have props that can be used in your photos that will add a bit more creativity and fun! If you really feel inspired you can also make your own personalized props from various sites on the web. Having a few unique items on hand such as masks, creative signs, picture frames, bubbles or sunglasses can help make posing so much more fun and entertaining! When the group is feeling relaxed and at ease, they are sure to have a fun time during this shoot!
The Right Location…
Make sure your surroundings give you different options for some unique poses! There are many places in Humboldt County that offer beautiful country backdrops. Whether you love being in an open grassy meadow at our Southern Humboldt Community Park, or being deep in redwood country along the Avenue of the Giants, a good location is essential in creating a unique image!
Be Prepared…
Check the weather channel! Does the forecast show rain or snow on your wedding day? If so don’t get bummed, just be prepared! Grab a comfy cute coat or blanket, an umbrella or two or some rain boots! Sometimes a change in the weather can create the best and most unique Kodak moments to remember! Your bridesmaids can wear a pair of colorful rain boots and walk hand in hand slightly splashing in the puddles on the ground! Your wedding party can also hold umbrella’s your head, as you lean in for a kiss! Have fun no matter what the weather does!
Pose Striking
You and your wedding party should relax and have fun with each other during your photography session. Feeling playful, comfortable and at ease helps create memorable group photos! Memorable group wedding photo poses often occur naturally if you are all enjoying yourselves. Make sure your wedding photographer knows the type of fun wedding party pictures you expect, and they will take care of capturing those moments while also making everyone look great!
Your wedding day is one of the biggest days ever! There is so much to plan for and so many details to remember! It’s easy to overlook things when it comes to something like wedding party photos!
